This recipe box includes a full jar of Lee Kum Kee Black Bean and Garlic Sauce meaning you can utilise the sauce base to explore different versions of this dish in the future.
The recipe itself is simple and perfect for beginner cooks who want to venture into the art of Asian cuisine.
1 Jar of Lee Kum Kee Black Bean and Garlic Sauce
1 Large Sweet Red Pepper
1 Bunch of Spring Onions
1 Bag of Fried Tofu 230g
1 Packet of Fine Beans
1 Long Red Chilli (Optional)
-Take one-quarter of your onion and chop into long think strips
-Chop the pepper into medium-sized chunks (so they remain crunchy whilst cooking)
-Chop the ends off the fine beans and slice in half. Do the same with the spring onions (you want these to be left in large halves to ensure they don’t overcook)
-Add 1 tablespoon of the black bean and Garlic Sauce to 1 and a half teaspoons of sugar and 200ml of tap water. Stir until combined
-In your pan or wok, add 4 tablespoons of oil and bring to a medium to high heat. Add your onions and fry for 30 seconds.
-Add your green beans and fry for 2 minutes. Then add your peppers and spring onions and fry for a further 2 minutes. You will also want to add your chopped chilli here if you want a spicy kick to the dish. Keep everything moving as you fry.
-Add your Tofu and fry for a further 2 minutes, still stirring quickly as you go.
